Biographical Information
about Gail Olson
Gail S. Olson is a Research
Assistant Professor with the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife
at Oregon State
University. Gail has a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Rhode
Island, a M.S. in Ecology with statistics minor
from North Carolina State University, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology
from Colorado State University. In addition,
she was a biometrician for the Missouri Department of Conservation
Wildlife Research Section for over 7 years, and
taught population ecology, wildlife techniques, and experimental
design at Humboldt State University for one year.
In 1999, she began a post-doctoral research associate position
at Oregon Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research
Unit at Oregon State University aimed at modeling demographic performance
of northern spotted owls relative to
habitat and other covariates, and has continued with this work
ever since.
