Biographical Information
about Steve Lanigan
Steve Lanigan is team leader for the federal interagency Aquatic
and Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Program.
Steve received his B.S. in Biology from Michigan Technological
University and M.S. in Fish and Wildlife Science
from Utah State University. His background includes work preparing
the first fisheries management plan for
Elmendorf Air Force Base (Alaska), and conducting aquatic surveys
for Alaska Peninsula and Bristol Bay National
Wildlife Refuges; Assistant Project Manager for Colorado River
Fish Project – monitoring status and trend of
Federally listed fishes and their relationship with habitat in
the Green River, Utah; Idaho: coordinating the Nez
Perce National Forest (Idaho) stream survey and monitoring program;
and 11 years as the Forest fish biologist for
the Gifford Pinchot National Forest (Washington). Steve also initiated
the creation of the Pacific Northwest Aquatic
Monitoring Partnership, and currently serves as coordinator of
the Watershed Condition workgroup.
