Biographical Information about Eric Forsman

Eric Forsman is a Wildlife Biologist at the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station in Corvallis, Oregon. Eric received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Oregon State University. He has spent over 30 years conducting research on the ecology of forest birds and mammals, especially spotted owls and their prey. He was a member of the Interagency Scientific Committee that developed the first region-wide management plan for the Northern Spotted Owl, and was also a member of the Forest Ecosystem Management Assessment Team that developed Option 9, which laid the framework for the NWFP. His current research interests include the population dynamics of spotted owls, and the natural history, habitat associations, and population trends of tree voles.
